Leicester City stunned everyone when they were crowned Premier League Champions in 2015/16 and since then had two respectable mid-table finishes.
You will have an exciting project on your hands with a good group of young talent, along with quality experienced players and a good transfer budget to continue building.
Leicester City board expect the club to achieve a top-half finish and with the quality in the team, this should be fairly easy to achieve.
However, the board will be looking to get back into Europe sooner rather than later, so your expectations should get steadily more difficult in the coming seasons.
Transfer & Wage budget
Transfer budget: £29.8M
Wage Budget: £1.991K p/w (£161K p/w remaining)
Leicester City has a very healthy transfer budget and one of the largest budgets outside the top six teams.
This is especially good considering they have already spent £86M on new players this season, with Caglar Soyuncu (£19M) and James Maddison (£20M) being the most expensive.
with the budget available you should be able to sign at least one key player for the team.
Leicester city has an excellent group of players, some of which even helped Leicester win the title in 2015/16.
Although they are not hugely reliant on any one player, these are the key players which will be the difference makers for the season ahead.
Harry Maguire – (CA 147 – PA 153)
Harry Maguire signed for Leicester from Hull City in 2017/18 season for £16M and has been well worth the investment.
Maguire is a commanding centre-back with excellent strength and aerial attributes, which makes him very difficult to beat in the air.
He is also a very good passer of the ball and can naturally play as a ball-playing-defender.
Best Attributes – Heading (17), Strength (17), Tackling (16), Bravery (16), Marking (15).
Jamie Vardy – (CA 150 – PA 155)
Jamie Vardy has been the Leicester city talisman for the past few seasons, with his goal-scoring form being the catalyst for their title-winning season.
Vardy is a fast direct player who likes long passes forward so he can beat the offside trap.
He’s now 31-years-old so only has a couple more seasons in his prime, however, while he has rapid acceleration and pace, he’ll be a threat to any defence.
Best Attributes – Acceleration (17), Pace (17), Determination (17), Penalty Taking (17), Aggression (17).
James Maddison – (CA 141 – PA 160)
Following an excellent 2017/18 championship season for Norwich City, Maddison has signed for Leicester City for a reported £20M
Maddison is a creative attacking midfielder, with ability to make key passes to the forwards for assists, Maddison is also very good at taking long shots and can constantly trouble the ‘keeper from outside the area.
Being only 21-years-old, he still has a lot to learn and with a potential ability of 160, he could easily become the best player in the team.
Best Attributes – Free Kick Taking (16), Passing (16), Flair (16), Long Shots (15), First Touch (15).
If you look at the under 23s and under 18s squad, you’ll see the quality is a little lacking and could do with their youth recruitment being improved.
However, there is a large group of young players who are already in the senior squad, it’s these young players which you should focus on the most.
Hamza Choudhury – (CA 128 – PA 140)
Hamza Choudhury has come through the Leicester city youth teams and is close to being a regular first-team player.
Choudhury is an aggressive ball-winning midfielder who has great stamina and work rate to keep playing at a high level for the whole 90-minutes.

Best Attributes – Stamina (17), Work Rate (16), Aggression (16), Tackling (14), Bravery (14).
Filip Benkovic – (CA 126 – PA 162)

Players to consider selling
Leicester like most teams has a few players now which are over 30-years-old and may begin to lose their importance for the first-team.
Although you shouldn’t look to sell too many players at once, the following are players which Leicester could afford to sell in order to make space for younger replacements.
Shinji Okazaki – (CA 130 – PA 143)
Shinji Okazaki was one of the heroes for Leicester during their title-winning season, however, the Japanese Striker is now 32-years-old and is the third choice striker behind Vardy and Iheanacho.
Within the next season, you can expect Okazaki’s attributes to steadily decline which will also cause his current valuation of £7.25M to also decrease, which would make now a perfect time to sell the Striker.
Wage: £35K p/w
Expected transfer value: £5M+
Andy King – (CA 128 – PA 135)
Andy King has only been a backup option for Leicester since their promotion to the Premier League in 2013/14.
He’s now been sent out on a season-long loan to Championship club Derby County.
On his return, you should look to move King on, on a permanent basis, with King being worth around £10M you should be able to get a nice transfer fee for him.
Wage: £40K p/w
Expected transfer value: £7.5M+
Wes Morgan – (CA 134 – PA 142)
Wes Morgan is the current captain for Leicester City, therefore you will need to be careful how you go about selling him.
However, Morgan is now 34-years-old and should no longer be regarded as a regular first-team player.
Morgans’ contract expires in June 2019, so it may be better to let him run out his contract potentially retire.
Wage: £60K p/w
Expected transfer value: none.
Players to consider signing
With a remaining transfer budget of £30M, you have the opportunity to sign at least one player which could make a big impact on the squad.
You should look to bring in players who are in the same mould of Leicesters recent signings, with young players with a lot of potential being the primary aim.
Youri Tielemans – (CA 139 – PA 167)
Youri Tielemans was one of the most coveted wonder-kids in Europe while playing at Anderlecht, following an average season at AS Monaco, Tielemans has moved on loan to Leicester for the 2018/19 season.
He should show over the course of the season why he is a player worth signing on a permanent deal, with a broad range of qualities, Tielemans can be the perfect deep-lying playmaker.
